Traces is an ongoing body of work made entirely of thread on either paper or stretched muslin. In some pieces within this body of work, both the front and back of the thread become simultaneously visible either through the chine collé process or through backlighting, creating an impression of a path travelled. Within this body of work, my process becomes traceable and moments of rest and moments of movement can be identified through a close interaction with the work. The simplification of the threaded gestures are intended to be ambiguous to allow them to take form as many things and can be interpreted differently depending on how these marks resonate with the viewers and their own experiences.
